With over 15 years of experience, StorMagic offers its storage cluster software SvSAN. With SvHCI, the company is now supplementing its portfolio with its own KVM-based hypervisor/ for holistic high availability with just two nodes.
StorMagic SvHCI is a comprehensive software solution for hyperconverged infrastructures (HCI) that has been specially developed for edge locations and SMEs. SvHCI combines the virtualized storage capabilities of SvSAN with the KVM-based StorMagic hypervisor, virtualized networking and management components. SvHCI includes 24x7x365 StorMagic Platinum support for the entire HCI stack.
While virtualization clusters usually require at least three nodes to form a quorum in the event of a fault, Stormagic's SvSAN/SvHCI software can be implemented with just two nodes. The volumes of the nodes are synchronously replicated to the other side. Any other computer takes over the function of the witness server to avoid split-brain situations.
SvHCI is easy to install, offers centralized management and can be up and running in less than an hour. The software can also be installed as a standalone system for small office or edge use.
The proven storage virtualization solution SvSAN is also still available as an independent storage HA solution for VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox or simply as a Storge Cluster solution. This guarantees enormous flexibility and independence in terms of operating system and hardware with maximum high availability.
