Product information

Huawei OceanStor Pacific is an intelligent scale-out storage series designed to meet the IT needs of today with virtually any growth in the future. It offers a wide range of different combinable storage systems that meet the requirements of business-critical applications.
The storage of data with Erasure Coding, intelligently distributed across multiple nodes, allows the failure of up to four nodes without data loss. Nodes can also be distributed across multiple sites to achieve geo-redundancy.
Erasure coding on up to 24 nodes (22+2) allows almost 92% of the gross capacity to be used, almost three times as much as with the triple mirrors commonly used in virtualization solutions.
The individual nodes can optionally be pure FullFlash systems, for particularly high I/O performance, or hybrid nodes that achieve high capacity with classic HDDs and optimize data throughput through intelligent caching.
Thus OceanStor Pacific systems can be used for very large virtualization solutions with thousands of VMs as well as for archiving and backup systems with very high capacities.
These systems can also be used as data storage for HPC cluster solutions with Infiniband connection.
