The ARC-4038 JBOD series offers 8/12 internal and 20/16 external 12Gb/s SAS ports for flexible connection and easy expansion. The high-performance architecture supports 12Gb/s SAS, 6.0Gb/s, and 3Gb/s SAS/SATA. With the latest SAS enhancements and LSI DataBolt technology, the ARC-4038 facilitates the transition to 12Gb/s SAS-enabled systems by utilizing 12Gb/s speeds while buffering and transferring data from existing 6Gb/s drives.
The ARC-4038's integrated expander manager enables easy configuration and monitoring through In-Band SES-3.0 and Out-of-Band RS-232. It implements the SES-3.0 protocol for individual fault/activity status indicators on backplanes and autonomous chassis management through the SES-3.0 protocol.
Areca introduces a powerful 12Gb/s SAS expander module for the ARC-4038 JBOD, ensuring maximum interoperability. Ideal for 12Gb/s SAS storage systems, the ARC-4038 supports host-based RAID configurations through external connectors such as PCIe to 12Gb/s SAS RAID controller and external series SAS/Fibre/iSCSI to 12Gb/s SAS RAID and SAS host adapters.
