Hyperconverged Clusters not only reduce hardware costs by combining storage and virtual machines in one system. They also simplify the moving of the individual VMs to the other cluster node, since the mirrored data no longer needs to be migrated.
With the SvSAN software from StorMagic this concept can be realized easily and efficiently. It can be installed in all common virtualization environments such as VMware, Hyper-V and Linux KVM.
EUROstor offers complete solutions, for example based on VMware. The hard disks or SSDs are managed by a RAID controller, in case of rotating disks instead of SSDs a read and write cache can be added.
As an alternative to the Standard Edition of SvSAN, there is also a Advanced Edition that supports read-ahead and write-back caching as well as so-called "data pinning", in which frequently read data (e.g. for booting virtual machines) is kept in the RAM memory.
