Simple management for Ceph systems based on NVMe

EUROstor extends product series based on Ambedded MARS

protocols for access. These include the native Ceph protocols such as RDB (for block access), RADOS (object access) or CephFS. But also the classic protocols like iSCSI, NFS, SMB or S3 can be installed via gateway.

In addition, data redundancy can be realized with Ceph within a system, a rack and additionally across locations. However, managing and optimally configuring this powerful open source software requires very in-depth know-how, which smaller companies in particular are not always able to offer.

This is where Ambedded comes in with systems whose intuitive management interface enables the setup of even a large scale-out cluster even without in-depth Ceph knowledge.

To meet the increasing demand for high-performance NVMe solutions, Ambedded has expanded its product line with Mars500 series systems, which are equipped with powerful processors and Ethernet connectivity via 25 and 100 GbE. They are available with 8 or – brand new – also with 24 U.3 SSDs, each configured as its own OSD („Object Storage Deamons“). The operating system (Ubuntu Linux) and the monitoring deamons are installed on two additional NVMe SSDs.

These systems can also be combined with the existing Mars400 to integrate mass storage volumes for archiving data and large object volumes for the on-premise cloud.

The systems are offered with lifetime software license and professional manufacturer support for hardware and software.
For example, an all-flash NVMe Mars524 server with 12 x 1.92 TB U.3 SSDs is available from € 23,900 (with VAT € 28,441).
