Backup Server with integrated LTO drive

With the new ES-2500LTO server series EUROstor offers compact backup solutions for SMBs

Backup-to-Disk-to-Tape (B2D2T), i.e. backing up data first to disk and then further to tape, is still the optimal way when on the one hand the backed up data needs to be restored quickly, but on the other hand the backup needs to be outsourced to a secure location. This is because smaller companies in particular usually do not have a second location for backup.

The new ES-2500LTO systems combine a RAID system with a tape backup drive on a Windows server. All common backup software packages can be installed under the Windows Server IoT for Storage 2019 (formerly simply called Windows Storage Server) installed there.

The fact that the RAID and LTO drive are in the same system means that, above all, there is no load on the company network when backing up the data to the tape.

The systems are available as compact standalone systems („cubes“) with 5 hard disks or as 2 U rackmount version with 6 hard disks, each up to 18 TB per disk. The disks are managed by an Areca RAID controller with its own GUI. Both LTO-7 (up to 15 TB compressed) and LTO-8 (up to 30 TB compressed) are offered as tape drives.

The systems are offered with up to 5 years warranty and optional advance replacement service or even on-site service. For example, a standalone system with LTO-8 drive and five 10 TB Enterprise SATA hard disks costs € 7790.- (with VAT € 9270.10).
