Open-E JovianVHR has been specifically developed for the secure storage of backups, reliably protecting data from ransomware attacks or accidental deletion. Based on ZFS technology, backup objects are write-protected (immutable) for a defined retention period and cannot be modified or deleted during that time – not even by administrators. This makes Open-E JovianVHR fully compliant with the requirements of modern backup strategies using Veeam and other solutions.

ZFS-based Reliability

Open-E JovianVHR is built on the proven Open-E ZFS Storage Framework, providing maximum data integrity through checksums, copy-on-write, and snapshots. This combination of file system reliability and object storage technology makes Open-E JovianVHR a secure and stable platform for long-term data retention.

Easy Integration and EUROstor Hardware

Open-E JovianVHR runs on EUROstor 8700 servers. Together with EUROstor hardware, it forms a turnkey solution that integrates seamlessly into existing backup infrastructures.

Licensing and Support Models

Open-E JovianVHR and all available Storage Extensions (16 TB, 128 TB, 512 TB, 4 PB) are available free of charge. However, for production use an active Support Plan is required, which also serves as the license activation for the selected storage capacity. Therefore, the actual costs depend solely on the chosen support level and duration (Standard, Premium, or 24/7).

Without an active support plan, the software may only be used for testing and evaluation purposes. With an active support contract, Open-E JovianVHR is fully unlocked, update-enabled, and officially licensed for production environments.

EUROstor 8700 Open-E JovianVHR backup appliances

EUROstor supplies pre-configured backup systems with Open-E JovianVHR, optimized for performance, energy efficiency, and ease of maintenance. Depending on requirements, compact 1U or 2U systems with scalable NVMe storage or up to 4U SATA configurations are available. On request, systems can be delivered with remote or on-site installation and support.
