Product information

ES-2800 Storage Server with NexentaStor software offers flexible storage provisioning for heterogeneous IT centers over NAS, iSCSI and optional also over FC. Different disks types can be used, for example SSD, SAS 10k / 15k and SAS nearline.
NexentaStor 4 software is based on Illumos with ZFS file system. In its commercial version it comes with a web management interface and professional support by the developers.
ZFS file system offers two major advantages: One is, that data will not just be overwritten on change, which allows for many snapshots without loss of performance. On the other hand all data is written together with checksums, which makes it easy to repair errors (like silent data corruption of the disks or other file system errors). There is no need anymore for time consuming file system checks.
ES-2800 systems can be offered with expansion ports for practically unlimited scalability.
And they can also be equipped with less power consuming 2.5" disks and as highly redundant cluster solution.
